THE DEITY OF JESUS ACCORDING TO KORAN AND HADITH

I have recently been engaged in dialogue with a Muslim woman who always questioned and opposed to the Lordship of Isa Al-Massih (Jesus).She cites quite a lot of verses from the Old Testament and the Gospel that she had actually taken out of context. The core of our dialogue is about the deity of Jesus that she could not accept. Regardless of my explanation and Bible verses I quoted, she still cannot accept. I believe God  works in all respects as it says in Romans 8:28, and I thank God for the dialogue and the discussion from which I was encouraged to study my Bible more and more to know more about  Yeshua Hamashiach (Jesus Christ) as my Lord and Savior , better known as Isa Al Masih Alaihissalam in Islam.

After several weeks of dialogue, I was finally compelled to find out myself what the Koran and Hadith say about Jesus and why our brothers and sisters in Islam do not accept Him as Lord. But since I do not speak Arabic, I try to do a little research with some source of Quran translation in Indonesian and English plus the interpretation from both Islam and Christianity point of views that I get through some reliable websites on the internet.  The following is a glimpse of my research results that I compile in an article (other articles coming).

I'm not suggesting that the content of this article be used for debate or to attack our brothers and sisters in Islam. Jesus always taught about love, so let this article be used on the basis of love. Do not become consumed with anger, but remains patient. The purpose of writing this article is that the children of God will be more sensitive and ready at anytime when asked for an account of their faith by others who do not believe.

Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. (2 Timothy 4:2)

In my upcoming posts, I will attach biblical quotes and explanations about the person of Jesus and His Lordship.
Here are some of the recognition of the Koran and Hadith about the deity of Jesus Christ, which I summarized in a few topics. My prayer that this compilation would be a reference for you and friends in understanding the Christian faith.

RESURRECTION DAY

Quran Surah Al-A'raf verse 187

They ask you about the Hour (Day of Resurrection): "When will be its appointed time?" Say: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (Alone). None can reveal its time but He. Heavy is its burden through the heavens and the earth. It shall not come upon you except all of a sudden." They ask you as if you have a good knowledge of it. Say: "The knowledge thereof is with Allah (Alone) but most of mankind know not."

But IN FACT ... Quran clearly says, there is another Person who has knowledge about it.

Quran Surah Az-Zukhruf verse 61

And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path.

ISA, THE MOST JUST OF JUDGES

 

Quran in Surrah 95 at tin- verse 8 says “Is not Allah the most just of judges?”

This verse affirms that God is very fair judge, and no one else,only God.
But there is a verse / testimony in the Hadith which says that there is another person who becomes "The Fair Judge / Just Ruler " on the Day of Judgment.

HR. Muslim Hadith No. 127 says

"By him in whose hands my soul (Mohammed) rests, surely Jesus, Son, of Mary will soon descend amongst you and will judge mankind judiciously…”

Saheeh Bukhari Hadith 1090 says

“surely will come down to you the son of Maryam, as a just ruler…”

Let us now examine it from linguistics point of view :

The word "Surely" means to confirm / to reassure the subject or object in the next word/ phrase.
Jesus Son of Mary is the person or subject that is confirmed or designated earlier by the word "surely"

It is said that "Jesus Son of Mary" will be the "fair judge"
Quran and Hadith should not contradict, right?

THE MIGHTY POWER OF ISA

Soorah Al ahqaaf 46 verse 33 says :

Do they not see that Allah , who created the heavens and earth and did not fail in their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yes. Indeed, He is over all things competent.

Now let us examine:

Only God has the power to create and it is not hard for Him to create things. (Islam will never disapprove this fact)

Only by the power of God / God alone who is able to raise the dead, no one else could (Islam will never disapprove this fact)
Only God who is Almighty, no one else but Him (Islam will never disapprove this fact)

But my friend, there are verses / testimonies in Quran that say somebody else posses this power;

 Ali imran 3: 49

And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], 'Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah . And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead - by permission of Allah . And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers.

 

And Soorah Al Maiddah  5: 110

[The Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, "This is not but obvious magic."

We discussed above that : Only God has the power to create and it is not hard for Him to create things, Only by the power of God / God alone who is able to raise the dead, no one else could and
Only God who is Almighty, no one else but Him.

The question now is who is he, the one who can create, heal, and give life to the dead as in the verses above???  Isn’t He Jesus, the Son of Mary?

If the person referred to above is a common man or a prophet, though he was the greatest prophet in the history of this world, he certainly did not have the power to heal the blind from birth, to give life to the dead, let alone the power to create from nothing to something, because the previous verse says only God can do that.

The only one who is able create, raise the dead, heal the blind from birth is He, the same one who created the world and everything in it _ God / Allah, BUT, Isa Al Masih Alaihissalam (Jesus Christ) can do that. That means, the Qur'an itself acknowledges that Jesus the Son of Mary is God Himself.

Quran cannot contradict itself, right!?

So this is the end of this brief article. My prayer is that you will be enlightened through this brief explanation. Regardless of what people say about Jesus, I want to convey to you the good news that Jesus Christ loves you because while people are looking for the straight way to salvation, Isa Al Masih Alaihissalam (Jesus) offers it freely.

“Guide us to the straight way… “  (Al-Fatihah 1:6)

“And Jesus says, I am the way…“  (Gospel of John 14:6)

Is God Finished With Israel ?

There are many Christians who think that God is no longer covenantally committed to Israel and that Christians have replaced Israel as God's covenant people. This is known as replacement theology. But, is this the case?

"For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery, lest you be wise in your own estimation, that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fulness of the Gentiles has come in; 26 and thus all Israel will be saved; just as it is written,“The Deliverer will come from Zion. He will remove ungodliness from Jacob.”  27 “And this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins.”  28 From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God’s choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers; 29 for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." (Rom. 11:25-29).

It is apparent from the above Scripture that God is not finished with Israel. Paul tells us that a partial hardening has happened to Israel. This is so the Gentiles can be included in the covenantal faithfulness of God in his redemptive work. This was prophesied in Genesis 12:3 and reiterated in Galatians 3:8. In those two verses, God says that in Abraham all the nations will be blessed. Paul quotes Gen. 12:3 in Galatians and calls it the gospel.

Obviously, God in his great and sovereign plan has worked all things after the counsel of his will (Eph. 1:11) so that the Gentiles would be saved. When the time of the Gentiles is over, God will move upon Israel. They will accept Jesus as the Messiah, and they will become a great and powerful nation used by God.

TENTANG SEJARAH PALESTINA

Media modern penuh dengan cerita tentang orang-orang Palestina, penderitaan mereka, dilema dan perjuangan mereka. Semua aspek kehidupan mereka tampaknya telah diletakkan di bawah mikroskop. Hanya satu pertanyaan yang sepertinya tidak pernah ditangani: Siapa orang-orang Palestina ini? Siapakah mereka yang mengaku Tanah Suci sebagai milik mereka? Apa sejarah mereka? Dari mana mereka datang? Bagaimana mereka tiba di negeri yang mereka sebut Palestina?

Kesan umum yang diberikan di media adalah bahwa orang-orang Palestina telah tinggal di Tanah Suci selama ratusan, bahkan ribuan tahun. Tidak heran, kemudian, bahwa jajak pendapat baru-baru ini warga Perancis menunjukkan bahwa secara mayoritas mereka percaya (secara palsu) bahwa sebelum berdirinya Negara Israel, sebuah negara Arab Palestina merdeka telah ada di sana.

Namun anehnya, ketika diminta untuk memberikan sejarah bangsa ini,  kebanyakan kantor berita hanya bisa menoleh  ke belakang ke awal seribu sembilan ratusan. CNN, sebuah lembaga yang telah mengabdikan berjam-jam airtime untuk penderitaan rakyat Palestina, memiliki situs web yang memiliki bagian khusus tentang konflik Timur Tengah yang disebut “Perjuangan Untuk Perdamaian” Termasuk bagian yang terdengar menjanjikan berjudul “Lands Through The Ages” yang meyakinkan kita bahwa artikel itu akan secara detail mengungkap sejarah daerah itu dengan menggunakan peta. Anehnya, ternyata, peta yang ditampilkan memiliki penanggalan yang tidak lebih dari awal 1917. Website CBS News memiliki bagian latar belakang yang disebut “Perjuangan Untuk Perdamaian Timur Tengah” Waktu Sejarahnya dimulai tidak lebih awal dari 1897. Di The NBC News pada bagian latar belakang yang disebut “Mencari Perdamaian” juga mencatat waktu yang dimulai pada 1916. Sedangkan menurut waktu BBC, Sejarahnya dimulai pada tahun 1948.

Namun, pemastiannya sendiri harus dari website Nasional Resmi Palestina sendiri, bukan? Meskipun berat dengan frasa seperti "pendudukan Israel" dan pelanggaran hak asasi manusia oleh Israel, situs ini secara praktis tidak menawarkan apa-apa tentang sejarah bangsa yang disebut Palestina. Satu-satunya artikel di situs ini yang mengandung konten sejarah adalah Sejarah Palestina - Milestones abad ke-20 yang tampaknya hanya untuk mengkonfirmasi bahwa sebelum tahun 1900 tidak ada konsep tentang Rakyat Palestina.

Sementara media modern mungkin kurang pada informasi tentang sejarah rakyat Palestina, tidak demikian dengan catatan sejarah. Buku, seperti Battleground oleh Samuel Katz dan Time Immemorial oleh Joan Peters pada masa lalu telah merinci sejarah daerah tersebut. Jauh dari gambaran tentang apa yg dikatakan bahwa tanah itu telah ditempati  oleh Palestina selama ratusan, bahkan ribuan tahun, Tanah Israel, menurut puluhan pengunjung ke tanah, itu, sampai awal abad terakhir, hampir kosong. Alphonse de Lamartine mengunjungi tanah itu pada tahun 1835 Dalam bukunya, Kenangan Timur, ia menulis "Di luar gerbang Yerusalem kami tidak melihat ada objek hidup, ataupun mendengar ada suara tanda kehidupan.”

Juga seorang penulis terkenal dari Amerika, Mark Twain, yang mengunjungi Tanah Israel pada tahun 1867, menegaskan hal ini. Dalam bukunya Innocents Abroad ia menulis, sebuah kehancuran ada di sini bahkan tidak sebuah imajinasipun dapat meramaikannya dengan kemegahan hidup dan tindakan. Kami mencapai Tabor dengan aman. Kami tidak pernah melihat seorang manusiapun di seluruh perjalanan. Bahkan Konsul Inggris di Palestina melaporkan, pada tahun 1857, negara ini ada di tingkat yang cukup kosong penduduk, dan oleh karena itu kebutuhan utamanya adalah memiliki penduduk.

Bahkan, menurut Ottoman Turk, angka sensus resmi 1882, di seluruh Tanah Israel, hanya ada 141.000 Muslim, baik Arab dan non-Arab. Jumlah ini naik hingga 650.000 orang Arab pada 1922, terjadi peningkatan 450% hanya dalam kurun waktu 40 tahun. Pada 1938 jumlah itu menjadi lebih dari 1 juta atau meningkat 800% hanya dalam waktu 56 tahun.  Pertumbuhan penduduk tertinggi terjadi di daerah di mana orang Yahudi tinggal. Dari mana semua orang Arab ini berasal? Menurut orang-orang Arab peningkatan besar dalam jumlah mereka adalah karena melahirkan normal. Pada tahun 1944, misalnya, mereka menyatakan bahwa peningkatan alami (kelahiran dikurangi kematian) orang Arab di Tanah Israel adalah luar biasa dari 334 per 1.000. Dengan demikian menjadikan angka tersebut sekitar tiga kali lipat, jumlah yang sama untuk tahun yang sama Lebanon dan Suriah dan hampir empat kali lipat dari Mesir, yang dianggap salah satu Negara yang memiliki angka yang tertinggi di dunia. Tidak mungkin, Jika peningkatan besar-besaran bukan karena kelahiran alami, maka dari mana semua orang Arab ini berasal?

Semua bukti menunjuk ke negara-negara tetangga Arab, seperti Mesir, Suriah, Lebanon dan Yordania. Pada tahun 1922 Gubernur Inggris di Sinai mencatat bahwa imigrasi ilegal tidak hanya terjadi dari Sinai, tetapi juga dari Yordan dan Suriah. Pada tahun 1930, laporan dari British Mandate-sponsored, Hope-Simpson mencatat bahwa daftar pengangguran membengkak oleh karena imigran dari Trans-Jordania dan imigrasi ilegal melalui Suriah dan di seluruh perbatasan utara Palestina. Orang-orang Arab sendiri menjadi saksi tren ini. Misalnya, gubernur distrik Suriah Hauran, Tewfik Bey el Hurani, mengakui pada tahun 1934 bahwa dalam satu periode hanya beberapa bulan, lebih dari 30.000 orang Suriah dari Hauran telah pindah ke Tanah Israel. Bahkan Perdana Menteri Inggris Winston Churchill mencatat masuknya Arab. Churchill, seorang veteran pada awal tahun mandat Inggris di Tanah Israel, mencatat pada tahun 1939 bahwa jauh dari seperti yang dikatakan mereka dianiaya, orang-orang Arab telah memadati negeri itu dan bertambah banyak.

Jauh dari gambaran pemberitaan tentang penggusuran orang-orang Arab, seperti yang mereka (orang-orang arab) nyatakan, orang-orang Yahudi adalah justru alasan orang-orang Arab memilih untuk menetap di Tanah Israel. Penyediaan lapangan kerja oleh industri Zionis dan pertanian yang baru didirikan memikat mereka di sana, sebagaimana konstruksi dan industri Israel zaman sekarang menyuplai sebagian besar orang Arab di Tanah Israel dengan sumber utama pendapatan mereka saat ini.

Malcolm MacDonald, salah satu penulis utama dari White Paper Inggris 1939, yang membatasi imigrasi Yahudi ke Tanah Israel, mengakui (secara konservatif) bahwa kalau bukan karena kehadiran Yahudi penduduk Arab akan menjadi lebih sedikit dari setengah dari jumlah sebenarnya. Hari ini, karena intifada terbaru, orang-orang Arab di bawah 35 tidak lagi diizinkan - sampai masuk ke pra-1967 Israel- untuk bekerja, pengangguran telah meroket sampai lebih dari 40% dan sebagian besar bergantung pada paket bantuan Eropa untuk bertahan hidup.

Tidak hanya orang-orang pada masa pra-negara Arab berbohong tentang bagaimana mereka menjadi orang pribumi. Bahkan saat ini, banyak tokoh besar yang menyebut diri orang Palestina, ternyata adalah orang asing yang lahir di luar. Edward Said, seorang Profesor di Ivy League bidang Sastra dan propagandis utama Palestina, cukup lama diklaim dibesarkan di Yerusalem. Namun, dalam sebuah artikel tentang masalah seputar September 1999 Commentary Magazine, Justus Reid Weiner mengungkapkan bahwa Said sebenarnya dibesarkan di Kairo, Mesir, ini sebuah fakta yang kemudian diakui oleh Said sendiri. Tapi mengapa harus memusingkan soal Said? Pimpinan PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) Yasir Arafat sendiri, yang mengangkat dirinya sendiri sebagai pemimpin rakyat Palestina, selalu diklaim lahir dan dibesarkan di Palestina. Ternyata, menurut penulis biografi resminya, Richard Hart, serta BBC, Arafat lahir di Kairo pada tanggal 24 Agustus 1929 dan di sanalah ia dibesarkan.

Untuk menjaga sandiwara sebagai penduduk pribumi, propagandis Arab harus melakukan lebih dari sekedar penulisan ulang sejarah. Sebagian besar penulisan ulang ini melibatkan penggantian nama geografi. Selama dua ribu tahun wilayah di pegunungan tengah Israel dikenal sebagai Yudea dan Samaria, sebagaimana yang tertulis pada peta abad pertengahan. Namun, negara Yordania menduduki daerah ini pada tahun 1948 dan menamainya Tepi Barat. Ini adalah nama yang lucu untuk daerah yang benar-benar terletak di bagian timur negeri itu dan hanya dapat disebut Barat jika mengacu ke Yordania. Hal ini tampaknya tidak menggelitik bagi sebagian besar kantor berita yang meliput wilayah itu, mereka  secara universal merujuk ke wilayah tersebut dengan nama Yordania yang baru.

Istilah “Palestinian” (Orang Palestina) sendiri merupakan hasil dari kepiawaian mereka memutar sejarah. Untuk menggambarkan diri mereka sebagai masyarakat pribumi, pemukim Arab mengadopsi nama suku Kanaan kuno, Phillistines (Filistin), yang sudah mati hampir 3000 tahun yang lalu. Bukti hubungan antara suku ini dan orang Arab modern adalah nihil. Siapa yang tahu bedanya? Mengingat tidak adanya catatan sejarah, kita dapat mengerti mengapa Yasser Arafat mengklaim bahwa Yesus Kristus, seorang tukang kayu Yahudi dari Galilea, adalah orang Palestina. Setiap tahun, pada waktu Natal, Arafat pergi ke Betlehem dan memberitahu jamaah bahwa Yesus pada kenyataannya adalah orang Palestina pertama.

Jika sejarah Palestina memang mitos, maka pertanyaan yang sebenarnya adalah, Mengapa? Mengapa menciptakan rakyat fiktif? Jawabannya adalah bahwa mitos Rakyat Palestina berfungsi sebagai pembenaran untuk pendudukan Arab di Tanah Israel. Sementara orang-orang Arab telah memiliki 21 negara berdaulat mereka sendiri (lebih dari Negara manapun di bumi) dan memiliki tanah yang ukurannya 800 kali ukuran Tanah Israel, hal ini tampaknya tidak cukup bagi mereka. Oleh karena itu mereka merasa perlu untuk merampok orang-orang Yahudi dari satu-satunya negara mereka, yang adalah salah satu negara yang terkecil di planet ini. Sayangnya, banyak orang tidak tahu tentang sejarah daerah itu, termasuk banyak media dunia, mereka hanya terlalu bersedia untuk membantu.

Sangat menarik untuk dicatat bahwa Alkitab ternyata sudah menulis referensi tentang sebuah negara fiktif yang akan menghadapi Israel. Mereka membangkitkan cemburu-Ku ^e  dengan yang bukan Allah, mereka menimbulkan sakit hati-Ku dengan berhala ^f  mereka. Sebab itu Aku akan membangkitkan cemburu mereka dengan yang bukan umat (bukan sebuah bangsa), dan akan menyakiti hati mereka dengan bangsa yang bebal (Ulangan 32:21).
