A friend sent me a short story through BlackBerry messenger. I wasn't in a good mood to read back then but how I was so touched when I read it. This story was in Indonesian language so I translated it so you can enjoy it as well.

I give names to the characters and give a title cos it was sent to me with no title so I give a little touch to it.
I don't know if its a true story or not, however it shakes my heart. Hope you are blessed just as I was.

06.00 pm

JENNIFER : Sweetheart, let's meet up at where we first met. Do you think its possible for us to meet tonight? Hope you won't be busy.

JAMES : Alright, but let me get my works done here first.

JENNIFER : You rather choose your work than me?

JAMES : Don't worry, I'll be there as soon as I'm done here, ok!

JENNIFER : Okay then, I'll be waiting for you :)

Hours and hours went by and James was busy with his friends who kept coming to his office that he forgot his appointment with his wife Jennifer.

He looked at his cell phone and there were 4 text messages and 10 missed calls.

He turned off his phone just as if he ran out of battery.

01.00 am

Being so tired and pale he went home right away thinking that his wife won't wait and so she might have been home earlier. How it came to his surprise when he saw his mother was crying in front of the house waiting for him to come home to tell him to go to the hospital soon.

MOTHER : (Crying) Sheriff just came and I just got a call from the hospital. Your wife was robbed, she tried to defend herself that one of the robbers stabbed her with a knife, beat her and killed her.

JAMES : Don't be kidding mom! She just called me.

He turned on his phone and looked at the text messages from his wife.

09.00 pm
Sweetheart, where are you?

09.30 pm
Sweetheart, why is your phone turned off?

11.45 pm
Sweetheart, there are some guys following me. I'm scared, where are you? : '(

12.00 am
Happy Anniversary sweetheart, I love you. I wanted to say it to you directly but seems like I'm not going to see you tonight. Goodnight love, hope you won't get cold out there and won't be sick when you're home.

Friends, you don't know when you're gonna lose your loved ones.

Show them each day that you love them so much, cos you don't know the time when you won't be able to say it again.. :(

God bless you all,

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. " (John 14:6).In my previous post I wrote about death which won't wait. Now this is the revelation about life. The bible has so many hidden treasures that if we just spend a little time to read and study it we will find so many secrets kept there. Now those secrets are revealed to the believers. Just as death which won't wait till you die, instead it comes right away as we sin, so is life. The bible says that the wages of sin is death but in the gospel of John it says that Jesus is the life. Can you guess what I'm going to say? Yes, when you receive Christ, you receive eternal life right away and right there where you are. It won't wait till you die! Eternal life starts here on earth. Many people interpret eternal life as heaven. This is one of the mistakes that even Christians do. Yes we will spend life eternally in heaven with Jesus, but eternal life doesn't start in heaven, it starts here on earth. It happens as a result of receiving Jesus as our Lord and Savior. So the moment we receive Jesus is the exact moment of receiving eternal life. That marks the day of our new birth. So if death is the wages of sin, life is the wage of receiving Christ. That means the saying is true ; Sin is the cause but Christ is the cure.if you've been experiencing death in your life, why don't you receive Jesus! It'll be a moment of a life time, a moment that you will never forget nor regret.

God bless you my friend,

-Jack Loloin-

Just got a very cool revelation.
Hope you would be blessed. Many christians believe that good deeds are necessary for salvation, that we need to be good persons to get into heaven, not knowing/forgetting that it is by the blood of Jesus that we are saved.
I watched a christian channel one day and saw a pastor was speaking about the covenant we have with God. Interesting. God most high wants to have a covenant with us? Isn't that wonderful? Not only that, the covenant is sealed with His blood.
This is not something that we can look down on. Once we understand the truth of blood covenant, I believe we will never under estimate the grace and salvation that is poured out on us.

"Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:"
(Jeremiah 31:31).

Because God so love the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.(John 3:16) Jesus' blood sealed the covenant that we have with God.To give you a better view of how a covenant looks like, see the story of the covenant between David and Jonathan in 1 sam 18,20 - 2 Sam 9.
" Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul."
(1 Samuel 18:3).
Here's their covenant :
"And thou shalt not only while yet I live shew me the kindness of the LORD, that I die not: But also thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from my house for ever: no, not when the LORD hath cut off the enemies of David every one from the face of the earth. So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, Let the LORD even require it at the hand of David’s enemies."
(1 Samuel 20:14-16)

Since David loved Jonathan like his own soul he would remember their covenant when he looked at the offspring of Jonathan. You see the covenant caused David to look after Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan (2 Samuel 9)Mephibosheth was nobody but a left out one. He was lame and nothing he could do. The name of Mephibosheth was not mentioned in the history of Jonathan's family until David came and find him.

So the initiative was of David and not of Mephibosheth. Doesn't it describe the love of Jesus who came to find us when we were yet sinners? You see, the covenant and the blessings that followed is well described there. The covenant of David and Jonathan represent the covenant we have with God.I was amazed reading the statement of David :As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king’s sons." (2 Samuel 9:11). Wow!!!
You know why? Because of the covenant! The covenant gives meaning to the life of Mephibosheth.Mephibosheth represents us. We don't deserve grace and the blessing but God remembers His covenant He made. So we have nothing to be boast of. All by grace. Just like Mephibosheth to whom David showed mercy and grace because of the covenant, God also be gracious to us because of His love and the covenant He made.

Jesus' blood was sprinkled on us as a seal for the covenant, so when God sees us He sees the blood of Jesus and so He will remember the covenant that He made with us.Because of that covenant we have the access to the blessings that God has prepared for us.If Mephibosheth did eat at one table with the king because of the covenant, how much more will we be eating at the same table with Jesus.
What an honor! Isn't that wonderful? He will never reject us. So if you're feeling unwanted, rejected or disappointed, remember He sees you just as David saw Mephiboseth. If you're feeling unworthy, remember that His blood gives you assurance that you are special.Jesus loves you my friend that He made a blood covenant with you.

To end this, I'd like to quote a scripture for you : "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:" (1 Peter 1:18-19).

God bless you.

Bellow is the generations of Loloin, starting from my great-grandfather. We were originally from Maluku (Molucas) but in around the 17th/18th century, one of our ancestors who was a sailor and fisherman stranded at the island of Rote and marked the beginning of Loloin existence in Rote and later expanded to Kupang, West-Timor. Somehow, we lost contact with our family in Maluku since that century and one of my dreams is to find them. Its not easy though. My mom used to meet one of our families from Maluku whose name was the same with hers. They were in touch for several times until the riot happened and we never heard from them since then.

My latest search resulted in the findings of Monica Loloin in Romania and Barbara Loloin in New Jersey (USA). Somehow, its hard to contact them as their emails were out of reach.

My purpose in posting this is that if you happen to meet somebody by the last name Loloin you can just let me know :)

So, here's the off-spring of Loloin.

PS : Jacobus January Loloin is my full name :)

Never thought that I would find you
In my sadness.
Never thought that we'd be riding on the waves
When I cry you've always come to fill my senses
With the beauty and the laughter on your face

Hear my voice when you are sleeping in the darkness,
know my friend that I'd be calling out your name
when your heart is torn apart and when there's just no one around
I will come to you

CHORUS :
We will leave it all behind
We'll be dancing in the rain
But I believe that there's a light of
a better day
Even though we're not the same
You are black and I am white
Together within one accord we will sing
Song of the ocean

(Yea yay yay yeah yeah..)

-Bridge-

Even though we're far away
We will meet again someday
We will sing.. Yea yay yay yay..

You can be sure that I will pray
Just so we can find a way
We'll be dancing in the rain.

Good morning everyone. I just wanna share a lil bit before getting myself busy with stuff here.
First of all I wanna thank everyone who had spent your time to pray for my thesis title. Praise the Lord its accepted.
There are some challenges I'll have to face before I graduate, which are the writing of my thesis and Community Service Project (CSP), a school project where we as students have to apply our skill in the community.

So am not in Kupang now but a remote village called Takari. Its been three weeks here and all I can say is wooww..!!!
Life is hard over here. No cellphone signal, hard to find clean water and the worst is poor electricity. Thank God.
I can't stop smiling and laughing at myself being here. Really an experience. We are 26 in this group and they're nice. Its good to hang out with new people. As usual it takes a while for me to get close to everyone. Its not that I wanna be exclusive or something, its just the thing that am struggling with. I grew up in family that loves me but sometimes they're very protective so I kinda made little friends when I was teenager. Just like an eagle, I want to enlarge my territory by making many friends and be socialized with everyone. Its not easy though, but am trying.

So we sleep on a mat with no pillow. Cold breeze and mosquito and rain have been our friends. Gotta get used to it though.
I take it as a preparation before God sends me as a missionary. Gotta be ready for the worst possibility. I don't know how long will we be staying with this condition but two months is like years for us. Pray that God will survive us here and the most important thing is His message that I have be conveyed to the people here. So pray for us.

God bless you all

In my previous post about death, we learned about physical death that won't wait till you receive Christ. Now we'll see spiritual death which won't wait as well.

"Sebab upah dosa ialah maut; tetapi karunia Allah ialah hidup yang kekal dalam Kristus Yesus, Tuhan kita." (Roma 6:23).

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23).

I love the way the bible describes death as the wages of sin. What does it mean?
Let's take a look at the word wage. Why does the bible use the term "wage"? Why not punishment, why not result or why not payment? Why wage. I used to learn about the difference between the word wage and salary. Both seem to have the same meaning but they differ in the way they're obtained. Salary is what we get at the end of the month/beginning of the next month after doing a certain work, while wage is what we get right away after doing a certain work. In relation to sin, death is what we get right away after sinning. It won't wait till you die, it comes to you right away when you sin. What is death anyway? Death is not being lifeless only, its not all. Death is more than that. What the bible says about it? God is holy so we as His children must be holy. We are to be holy as we are the temple of the Holy God. What happen when the temple is desecrated? God won't be dwelling there. So death means separation with God.

What God said to Adam in Genesis?
"But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." (Genesis 2:17).

When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they were casted out of Eden and lose their fellowship and relationship with God. Men couldn't come to God by themselves because of their sin of disobedience. See, when we sin we are separated with God. Jesus said "Apart of me you can do nothing!" That's death - Separation.
This answers one of the most controversional questions "why are there sufferings in this world?" Its because of sin. It gives us the answer as well, we know sin is the cause but we know Christ is the cure.
I'm not saying things are going to be easy if we receive Christ. Don't get me wrongly, because the joy we have in Him is much greater than the suffering we have in this life. Besides, isn't He the one who says : I will never leave you nor forsake you?

So death won't wait till you die.

We will see what the bible says about life in my next post.
May the Lord bless you.

DSR : Do Something Real.

God bless you,
